If you’d like to transfer a domain from one registrar to another, you will need to pass through a few security steps. One of them is obtaining a special EPP code from the present domain registrar – as long as you are the domain registrant, since the code is sent to the owner's email address and no one else can obtain it. You’ll need to give this code to the new domain registrar, otherwise they will not be able to start the domain transfer process. The EPP authentication codes are case-sensitive and may include numbers or special characters such as commas or dots, which can be easily mistyped, so make sure you copy/paste the correct code. As an additional safety measure, the transfer code for a domain name may be altered on a regular basis. Certain registrar companies call this code an Auth key, a domain password or a domain secret as well.
EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Hosting
You can obtain the EPP transfer authorization code for any domain that you’ve registered through us with only a couple of clicks from the exact same Hepsia Control Panel that you’ll use to administer your cloud hosting account. Once you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll find all your domains conveniently listed in alphabetical order. If some extension supports transfers between domain name registrars with an EPP code, you will see an EPP button to the right of the given domain name. If you click that button, the code will be emailed to the email address associated with the Registrant contact for the given domain. If you want, you can modify the contact information, including the email, without needing to leave this section of the Control Panel, if the current email isn’t valid any longer.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
In case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company and you’ve registered a domain name that you would like to transfer, you can get the EPP transfer code stunningly easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll manage both your account and your domains. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll find an EPP logo on the right side of your domains, on the condition that their TLD extensions support transfers between registrar companies with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email to ensure that only the domain name owner can see this information. If the currently listed address isn’t valid anymore, you can edit it with several clicks without the need to leave this section of the Control Panel. The change is instantaneous, so you will be able to request the EPP transfer code for the given domain straight away.
